Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治胎死腹中, 搶心悶絶欲死, 或食惡物, 或誤服草藥, 傷動胎氣. 胎未損, 服之可安, 胎已死, 服之可下, 或胎腐爛者, 立可取出, 此方至妙. 桂枝ㆍ赤茯苓ㆍ牡丹皮ㆍ赤芍藥ㆍ桃仁 各等分, 蜜丸芡實大, 空心服三丸, 或丸如彈子大, 淡醋湯化下一丸. 卽仲景方桂枝茯苓丸也. 治婦人宿有癥病而孕胎, 及三月而漏血不止. 胎動在臍上者爲癥, 害姙娠. 凡胎動多在當臍, 今動在臍上, 故知是癥也. 當下其癥, 宜用桂枝茯苓丸. 丹溪亦稱妙. 《良方》

Translation

Treats a foetus dead in the belly with a snatching at the heart, oppression and near collapse; or foetal qi disturbed by eating something foul or by wrongly taking a herb. Where the foetus is not yet lost, taking it settles the pregnancy; where the foetus is already dead, taking it brings it down; and where the foetus has rotted, it can be got out at once — this formula is most marvellous. Cinnamon twig, red poria, moutan bark, red peony and peach kernel in equal parts; honey pills the size of a euryale seed, three taken on an empty stomach, or pills the size of a bullet, one dissolved in weak vinegar decoction. That is, Zhongjing's Cinnamon Twig and Poria Pill. It treats a woman who has long had a concretion disease and conceives, and who bleeds without stopping at the third month. Foetal stirring above the navel is a concretion and harms the pregnancy; ordinarily foetal stirring is at the navel, and now it stirs above the navel, and by this it is known to be a concretion. The concretion should be brought down, and Cinnamon Twig and Poria Pill is appropriate. Danxi also calls it marvellous. — Buin Daejeon Yangbang 良方 (Donguibogam · Buin)
