Translation

Treats stomach reflux and dysphagia with blockage. Round cardamom and cardamom, 2 nyang each; old granary rice, 1 seung, dry-fried with yellow earth and the earth then sifted out. Grind to a powder, make pills the size of a paulownia seed with ginger juice, and give a hundred pills down with ginger decoction. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Guto)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Three materials and two of them cardamoms. The bulk of the pill is old granary rice roasted in earth, which is to say starch and nothing else: the formula is a vehicle for getting a little aromatic drug and a good deal of digestible carbohydrate into a patient who cannot keep food down. 太倉 is the granary of the body, the stomach, and the name says what the formula is for. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
