Translation

Treats kidney vacuity with black flowers seen before the eyes. Prepared rehmannia, dendrobium, cuscuta (wine-processed), saposhnikovia, astragalus, plantago seed, leonurus seed, raspberry, cistanche (wine-steeped), magnetite calcined and processed, and broomcorn seed 1 nyang each; one whole rabbit's liver roasted dry. Powder them, make honey pills the size of parasol-tree seeds, and take fifty to seventy on an empty stomach with salted wine. — Uibang Yuchwi 類聚 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Eleven medicinals at a nyang each with a rabbit's liver and a magnetite — the Yuchwi's formula for floaters, read as kidney vacuity rather than as anything in the eye. Magnetite is the drug that settles and the liver the one that nourishes; everything else is from the seed group. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
