Translation

Also called the Part the Clouds and Push Back the Screen Pill. Treats every screen and membrane and inner and outer obstruction; even one dim and without sight has taken it with repeated effect — a truly wonderful formula. Korean angelica wine-washed 1 nyang 5 don; chuanxiong, horsetail with the joints removed and steeped in a child's urine then dried over a low fire, buddleia flower, schizonepeta spikes, lycium root bark, tribulus, chrysanthemum and notopterygium 1 nyang each; Sichuan pepper (stir-fried) 7 don 5 pun; trichosanthes root, bitter orange, vitex, mint, cassia seed (stir-fried) and roasted licorice 5 don each; snake slough, cicada slough and coptis 3 don each. Powder them, bind with honey making ten pills to the nyang, and dissolve one in clear tea or hot water to take. — Uihak Jeongjeon 正傳 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Nineteen medicinals and the chapter's largest external-obstruction pill, with angelica leading and two sloughs at the end of it. The claim is extravagant and the Bogam prints it as found; what makes the formula worth reading is its structure — blood moved below, wind dispersed above, and the sloughs and horsetail to take the membrane off. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
