Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治産難及橫逆産. 鹽豉一兩, 以靑布裹了, 燒存性, 入麝香一錢. 右末, 秤錘燒紅, 淬酒調下一錢. 《良方》

Translation

Treats a hard birth, and crosswise or reversed birth. Salted fermented soybean 1 nyang, wrapped in blue cloth and burnt with its nature retained; musk 1 don added. Powder them; heat a steelyard weight red in the fire, quench it in wine, and take 1 don stirred into that wine. — Yangbang 良方 (Donguibogam · Buin)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Two ingredients and a piece of theater — wine quenched with a red-hot steelyard weight, the metal's heat and force transferred into the draught.
