Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治風眼ㆍ氣眼, 昏淚痒瞖, 或頭風牽引眼小ㆍ胞爛. 蒼朮童尿浸二宿, 切晒乾ㆍ白芍藥各一兩, 白蒺藜(炒) 八錢, 白茯苓四錢, 石決明(製)ㆍ當歸ㆍ防風ㆍ羌活各三錢, 蟬殼ㆍ甘草各二錢, 蛇蛻皂角水洗焙ㆍ荊芥ㆍ細辛各一錢. 右爲末, 每二錢, 茶淸或米泔調下, 食後. 《得效》

Translation

Treats wind eye and qi eye with dimness, tearing, itching and a screen, or a head wind dragging at the eye with the lid small and ulcerated. Atractylodes lancea steeped two nights in a child's urine then sliced and sun-dried, and white peony, 1 nyang each; tribulus (stir-fried) 8 don; poria 4 don; abalone shell (processed), Korean angelica, saposhnikovia and notopterygium 3 don each; cicada slough and licorice 2 don each; snake slough washed in gleditsia water and dried over a low fire, schizonepeta and asarum 1 don each. Powder them and take 2 don at a time after food, stirred into clear tea or rice-washing water. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Beyond compare is the Deukhyobang's claim, and the formula earns part of it by covering both eye and lid: atractylodes and peony below for the damp and the blood, the two sloughs above for the surface.
