Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治産後感冒風寒, 咳喘痰盛. 旋覆花ㆍ赤芍藥ㆍ荊芥穗ㆍ半夏麴ㆍ五味子ㆍ麻黃ㆍ赤茯苓ㆍ杏仁ㆍ前胡ㆍ甘草各一錢. 右剉作一貼, 入薑三棗二, 水煎服. 《三因》

Translation

Treats wind cold contracted after delivery, with cough, panting and abundant phlegm. Inula, red peony, schizonepeta spike, fermented pinellia, schisandra, ephedra, red poria, apricot kernel, peucedanum and licorice 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, add 3 slices of ginger and 2 jujubes, decoct in water and take. — Samin 三因 (Donguibogam · Buin)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Ephedra in a postpartum formula is the exception to this section's rule against sweating a woman who has just delivered.
