Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治肝實. 羌活ㆍ當歸ㆍ薄荷ㆍ防風ㆍ大黃ㆍ川芎ㆍ梔子(炒)ㆍ甘草(灸) 各一錢. 右剉, 水煎服. 加草龍膽一錢尤妙. 《海藏》

Translation

Treats liver repletion. Notopterygium, angelica, mint, saposhnikovia, rhubarb, chuanxiong, gardenia (stir-fried) and licorice (mix-fried) 1 don each. Cut up, decoct in water and take. Adding 1 don of gentian is better still. — Haejang 海藏 (Donguibogam · Gan)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Sacheong-hwan as a decoction, with mint and licorice added and the gentian made optional — Wang Haogu's version for the adult who needs it now rather than the child who takes a pill.
