Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治牙痛如神, 此胃熱也. 當歸ㆍ川芎ㆍ赤芍藥ㆍ生地黃ㆍ黃連ㆍ牡丹皮ㆍ梔子ㆍ防風ㆍ荊芥ㆍ薄荷ㆍ甘草各一錢. 右剉, 作一貼, 水煎服. 《回春》

Translation

Treats toothache divinely — this is stomach heat. Angelica, chuanxiong, red peony, fresh rehmannia, coptis, tree peony bark, gardenia, saposhnikovia, schizonepeta, mint and licorice 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, decoct in water and take. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Ahchi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Cheongwi-san widened — the same coptis, rehmannia, angelica and tree peony bark with Samul- tang's blood medicinals and three wind dispersers. It is the chapter's workhorse for a hot toothache. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
