Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治痛風走注. 威靈仙(酒蒸) 五錢, 羊角灰三錢, 蒼耳子一錢半, 白芥子一錢. 右爲末, 每一錢, 薑湯調下. 《入門》 ○一方無蒼耳子, 有蒼朮.

Translation

Treats painful wind with shifting pain. Wine-steamed clematis, 5 don; goat horn ash, 3 don; xanthium fruit, 1 don 5 fun; white mustard seed, 1 don. Powder; 1 don each time, taken stirred into ginger decoction. One version has no xanthium fruit and has atractylodes lancea instead. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Pung)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Four drugs and the only formula in the chapter using goat horn ash, which the materia medica treats as a cooling drug for wind in the sinews. Clematis at five don is the chief and is the tradition's specific for joint pain that moves; white mustard seed and xanthium fruit are both acrid surface-opening drugs that reach into the limbs.
