Translation
Treats wasting-thirst generally. Clean coptis, ground to a fine powder — no fixed amount — is kneaded with the natural juice of pounded winter melon and formed into cakes; these are shade-dried and re-powdered, steeped again and dried again, up to seven times in all, then bound with the winter-melon juice into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds. Take 50–70 pills, sent down with a decoction of barley kernels. — Bonsa 本事. Also called Gwaryeon-hwan. — Jikji 直指 (Donguibogam · Sogal)
