Translation

Treats post-illness vacuity weakness of the origin Qi. This medicine nourishes the origin Qi, supplements the Spleen and Stomach, advances fine eating, clears fire, transforms phlegm, and unties constraint. Earth-fried white atractylodes 2.5 nyang; lotus seed, platycodon, and coix seed, 2 nyang each; ginseng, white poria, dry-fried dioscorea, tangerine peel, prepared pinellia, white hyacinth bean and coptis (both ginger-juice-fried), Korean angelica, cyperus, polygala, and licorice, 1 nyang each; amomum and acorus, 5 don each. Powder the above; beat 1 nyang of leaven powder into a ginger-jujube decoction, cook to a paste, and bind into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; take 100 pills with plain boiled water. — Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · Naesang)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The powder's ambitious sibling — same convalescent chassis, but the Uigam adds a second story: coptis for the leftover fire, angelica for the thinned blood, polygala and acorus for the mind that illness scattered. Recovery treated as a whole-person project, in one nightly hundred. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
