Clinical commentary 臨床

Opi-san and Saryeong-san combined, as the name states, with lycium root bark standing in for one of the five peels. Six peels in all — the peel principle set out at Opi-san carried further, with everything that treats the surface layer drawn from the surface layer of a plant. Lycium root bark is the addition worth noting: it clears heat from the yin aspect rather than draining water, which suits oedema of long standing where the fluid has begun to generate heat. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
