Translation

Red poria, white atractylodes, dry ginger, alisma and cinnamon heart 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, decoct in water and take. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Seup)

Clinical commentary 臨床

入浴暈倒 — fainting in the bath — is a specific and recognizable event, and the deficits listed after it are focal: hemiplegia, facial deviation, numbness of the hands and feet. The chapter groups them under damp warmth rather than under wind stroke, which is a deliberate reclassification. **Sudden focal neurological deficit is a stroke until proved otherwise and requires emergency care. Collapse in a hot bath is a recognized trigger.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
