Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治風熱咽喉腫痛, 或喉痺神效. 桔梗二錢, 甘草ㆍ荊芥ㆍ防風ㆍ黃芩ㆍ薄荷各一錢. 右剉, 作一貼, 水煎徐徐服. 加玄參一錢尤妙. 《必用》

Translation

Treats wind heat with the throat swollen and painful, or throat impediment — divinely effective. Platycodon 2 don; licorice, schizonepeta, saposhnikovia, scutellaria and mint 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, decoct in water and take slowly. Adding 1 don of scrophularia is better still. — Piryongbang 必用 (Donguibogam · Inhu)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Gamgil-tang with four additions, and the chapter's workhorse: 5.20's treatment plan ends by saying to take this regularly after the acute measures. 徐徐服 — taken slowly, so it passes the sore place more than once. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
