Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治積聚, 脹滿, 血蠱等病, 宜外敷神膏, 及外敷藥. 大黃ㆍ朴硝各四兩, 麝香一錢. 爲末, 每二兩, 和大蒜搗, 成膏, 敷患處. 《入門》

Translation

Treats accumulation and gathering, distension and fullness, blood gu and the like. Rhubarb and mirabilite 4 nyang each, musk 1 don. Powder them; for each 2 nyang, pound together with garlic to make a paste and apply it to the affected place. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Changman)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The same three-part construction as the Amber Plaster in the Accumulations chapter at 1.15.2 — rhubarb, mirabilite and garlic pounded into a cake — with musk added here to open what is blocked. Rhubarb and mirabilite draw; garlic is the irritant that carries. **Garlic held against skin under a dressing causes chemical burns. Contains musk, CITES Appendix I and prohibited in trade.
