Powder the above; melt the antler glue in wine and bind pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; take 100 pills with a ginger-and-salt decoction. — Jeongjeon 正傳 (Donguibogam · Jok)

Clinical commentary 臨床

A pound of antler glue as the sovereign, with the antler ash beneath it — this is the heaviest filling formula in the chapter, and the indication justifies it: someone who has been lying down so long they can no longer get up. The source calls the effect divine. Structurally it is Eight Treasures with the animal medicinals layered over, which is the standard classical answer to failure of the sinews and bones. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
