Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治風邪入腦, 宿冷不消, 鼻內結硬物窒塞, 腦氣不宣, 遂流髓涕. 大白天南星切片, 沸湯泡兩次, 焙乾, 每服二錢, 入大棗七枚, 甘草少許, 同煎, 食後服. 三四服後, 其硬物自出, 腦氣流轉, 髓涕自收. 仍以蓽撥餠貼顖門, 熨斗火熨之, 令熱透. 《得效》

Translation

Treats wind evil entering the brain with an old cold undispersed, a hard thing formed inside the nose that blocks it so that the brain qi is not diffused and marrow-like discharge runs. Large white arisaema sliced, scalded twice in boiling water and baked dry; take 2 don a dose with 7 jujubes and a little licorice, decocted together, after food. After three or four doses the hard thing comes out of itself, the brain qi circulates and the marrow-like discharge stops. Then apply Long Pepper Cake to the fontanelle and iron it with a flat-iron until the heat penetrates. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Bi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

鼻內結硬物 — a hard thing formed inside the nose. A polyp, and the Deukhyo expects it to come away after three or four doses.
