Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治積熱潮熱. 朱砂 九錢, 牛黃ㆍ龍腦ㆍ膩粉ㆍ麝香 各三錢, 巴豆 三十二箇<span class='sochu'>去皮心膜炒去油熟硏</span>, 金箔 九片. 右合硏勻, (煉)黃蠟 六錢, 入白沙蜜少許和勻, 兩作三十丸. 每用一丸, 米飮, 或涼水呑下, 取轉下一切惡毒涎. 如要藥速行, 以鍼刺一眼子, 冷水浸, 少時服, 其效更速. 《局方》 此疏決腸胃, 制伏木火之劑也. 《丹心》
Translation
Treats accumulated heat with tidal fever. Cinnabar 9 don; bezoar, borneol, calomel and musk 3 don each; croton seed thirty-two <span class='sochu'>skin, heart and membrane removed, fried, the oil pressed out and ground cooked</span>; gold leaf nine leaves. Grind them together evenly, add 6 don of refined beeswax and a little white honey, mix evenly and make thirty pills from each two nyang. Take one pill at a time down with rice broth or cool water, to bring down all foul and toxic drool. If the medicine is wanted to act quickly, prick one eye in it with a needle, steep it in cold water a little while and then take it, and the effect is quicker still. This is a preparation that dredges and opens the intestines and stomach and subdues the wood fire. — Hwaje Gukbang 局方 (Donguibogam · Hwa)
