Translation

Treats all kinds of vacuity and insufficiency, with the body constantly sweating of itself, worse lying at night, not stopping for long, with emaciation and withering, palpitation and fright. Oyster shell (calcined), ephedra root, astragalus and anemarrhena 1 nyang each. Powder them and take 2 don stirred into a decoction of light wheat; it may also be cut and decocted. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Jinaek) Danxi's formula for spontaneous sweating — saposhnikovia, astragalus, white atractylodes, oyster shell powder and ephedra root in equal parts, cut and decocted — is also good.

Clinical commentary 臨床

The standing formula for sweating — oyster shell, ephedra root and astragalus are the three every later sweating formula starts from. Anemarrhena for the heat that a long sweat leaves, and light wheat as the draught, which the chapter uses in almost every recipe. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
