Clinical commentary 臨床

The name takes a character from each of the two leading drugs, ophiopogon and gastrodia, which is also what distinguishes it from the three formulas before it: the same spleen-and-phlegm base with a moistening drug at the head of it. It is the one of the four to use where the patient is dry as well as nauseated — the others are all warm and drying. **Contains pinellia, which is toxic in the raw state and must be properly processed before use.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
