Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

佐肺金, 以伐肝木之火. 片芩六兩, 吳茱萸一兩. 右末, 蒸餠丸, 服如上法. 《入門》

Translation

Assists the lung metal so as to cut down the fire of the liver wood. Sliced scutellaria 6 nyang, evodia 1 nyang. Powder them, make pills with steamed cake, and take as in the method above. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Hwa)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Jwageum-hwan proper uses coptis with evodia at six to one; this version puts scutellaria in the coptis position, which moves the target from the heart and stomach to the lung. 佐金 — assisting the metal — names the strategy rather than the action.
