Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治産後傷風, 頭痛發熱. 靑竹葉二十四片, 防風ㆍ人參ㆍ桂枝ㆍ桔梗ㆍ前胡ㆍ陳皮ㆍ赤茯苓各一錢. 右剉作一貼, 入薑三棗二, 水煎服. 《入門》

Translation

Treats wind damage after delivery, with headache and fever. Green bamboo leaf twenty-four; saposhnikovia, ginseng, cinnamon twig, platycodon, peucedanum, tangerine peel and red poria 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, add 3 slices of ginger and 2 jujubes, decoct in water and take. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Buin)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Cinnamon twig with saposhnikovia rather than ephedra, and bamboo leaf leading to keep the opening cool. The section will release the exterior after delivery but will not force a sweat, and this is the mildest of its three attempts. **Fever after delivery may be puerperal sepsis and requires assessment.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
