Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治食勞, 氣勞, 遍身黃腫, 欲變成水. 膽礬 三兩, 黃蠟 二兩, 大棗 五十枚. 右以銀石器內入好醋三升, 先下礬ㆍ棗, 慢火熬半日, 取出棗去皮核, 次下蠟熬一二時如膏, 入臘茶末 二兩, 和丸梧子大. 每服二三十丸, 茶酒任下. 礬以瀉肝, 棗以補脾, 極妙. 《本事》 無膽礬, 用綠礬. 一人患酒疸, 下血, 面如蠟, 服此卽愈. 《本事》
Translation
Treats food taxation and qi taxation with yellow swelling over the whole body, about to turn into water. Chalcanthite 3 nyang, beeswax 2 nyang, jujubes 50. Put 3 seung of good vinegar into a silver or stone vessel, add the vitriol and jujubes first and reduce over a slow fire for half a day; take out the jujubes and remove their skins and stones. Next add the wax and reduce for an hour or two to a paste, stir in 2 nyang of powdered winter tea, and make pills the size of a firmiana seed. Take twenty or thirty at a dose, down with tea or wine as preferred. The vitriol drains the liver and the jujube supplements the spleen — most excellent. Where there is no chalcanthite, use green vitriol. A person suffered alcohol jaundice with blood passed below and a face like wax; taking this, he recovered. — Bonsa 本事 (Donguibogam · Hwangdal)
