Translation

Treats unbearable pain of a worm-eaten tooth, divinely effective. Powdered Sichuan pepper with one croton kernel ground to a paste, mixed with cooked rice into a pellet, wrapped in cotton wool and set in the cavity of the tooth, and it heals.

Clinical commentary 臨床

**Contains croton, which is severely toxic and caustic. For external use only, and it should not be prepared.** Sichuan pepper alone in a cavity is the part worth keeping — it contains hydroxy-alpha- sanshool, which numbs, and the chapter uses it in five tooth preparations for that reason. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
