Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治縱慾强留不泄, 淫精渗下作淋. 甘草梢二錢, 山藥ㆍ澤瀉各一錢半, 人參ㆍ白茯苓ㆍ蓮蘂ㆍ巴戟ㆍ升麻ㆍ益智仁ㆍ黃栢(酒炒) 各一錢. 右剉, 作一貼, 水煎空心服. 《醫鑑》

Translation

Treats strangury arising when, in indulgence, the discharge was forcibly held back and did not issue, so that the lewd essence seeped downward. Licorice root tips 2 don; dioscorea and alisma 1 don 5 pun each; ginseng, white poria, lotus stamen, morinda, cimicifuga, alpinia and phellodendron (wine-fried) 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, decoct in water and take on an empty stomach. — Gogeum Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · Sobyeon)

Clinical commentary 臨床

縱慾强留不泄 — indulgence with the emission held back by force. The Uigam names a cause the later tradition kept writing about, and the formula answers it with lotus stamen and alpinia to hold, cimicifuga to lift, and licorice tips for the pain at the end of the urethra. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
