Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治努肉攀睛. 大黃ㆍ黃芩ㆍ防風ㆍ薄荷 各一錢二分半. 右剉, 蜜少許同煎服. 《得效》

Translation

Treats proud flesh creeping over the eye. Rhubarb, scutellaria, saposhnikovia and mint 1 don 2 pun 5 ri each. Cut them up and decoct with a little honey. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Four medicinals in equal weight with honey in the pot — the two yellows to drain the heat downward, the two light drugs to disperse above. Proud flesh climbing the cornea is a pterygium, and nothing taken by mouth removes one; what this would have done is settle the inflammation around it. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
