Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治食積酒毒, 幷一切氣滯, 大小便秘澁. 大黃(生)ㆍ黑牽牛頭末各二兩, 香附子(炒) 一兩三錢, 黃栢一兩, 木香ㆍ檳榔ㆍ枳殼ㆍ靑皮ㆍ陳皮ㆍ蓬朮ㆍ黃連各三錢. 右爲末, 水丸梧子大, 淡薑湯呑下百丸. 《醫鑑》

Translation

Treats food accumulation and wine toxin, and any qi stagnation with stool and urine bound and rough. Raw rhubarb and the first sifting of black morning-glory seed 2 nyang each; cyperus (stir-fried) 1 nyang 3 don; phellodendron 1 nyang; costus, areca, bitter orange, green tangerine peel, tangerine peel, curcuma and coptis 3 don each. Powder them, make water pills the size of a firmiana seed, and swallow a hundred with thin ginger decoction. — Gogeum Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · Bok)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The chapter's purge, and 13.21's rule is what it serves: 痛隨利減, the pain lessens as the bowel opens.
