Clinical commentary 臨床

Sixteen drugs at six fun each, which is a flat formula with no chief — and the name tells you how to read it: the qi-regulating group (green and ripe tangerine peel, bitter orange, platycodon, lindera) and the wind-dispelling group (notopterygium, pubescent angelica, saposhnikovia, angelica dahurica, schizonepeta) are stated to be of equal importance, with arisaema and pinellia bridging them through phlegm. It is the broad, safe version of what Gyeonjeong-san does sharply, and a physician unsure of the pattern would reach for this one. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
