Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治高風雀目, 漸成內障. 石決明煆硏水飛ㆍ覆盆子ㆍ茺蔚子各二兩, 槐實(炒)ㆍ人參ㆍ細辛ㆍ防風ㆍ白茯苓ㆍ甘菊ㆍ栢子仁ㆍ川芎各一兩. 右爲末, 蜜丸梧子大, 溫水下三十丸. 《類聚》

Translation

Treats high wind sparrow eye gradually becoming an internal obstruction. Abalone shell calcined, ground and water-levigated, raspberry and leonurus seed 2 nyang each; sophora pod (stir-fried), ginseng, asarum, saposhnikovia, poria, chrysanthemum, arborvitae seed and chuanxiong 1 nyang each. Powder them, make honey pills the size of parasol-tree seeds, and take thirty down with warm water. — Uibang Yuchwi 類聚 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

High wind sparrow eye is the night blindness that does not come back with food and goes on narrowing the sight until the eye is obstructed — which is why this formula, unlike the other three, has no liver in it and is built on seeds and shell for the long haul.
