Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治脬轉不得尿. 寒水石二兩, 滑石ㆍ亂髮灰ㆍ車前子ㆍ木通各一兩, 葵子一合. 右剉, 水一斗, 煮取五升, 每服一升, 日三次, 卽通. 《得效》

Translation

Treats twisted bladder with no urine. Glauberite 2 nyang; talc, hair ash, plantain seed and akebia 1 nyang each; mallow seed 1 hop. Cut up, boil in a mal of water down to five seung, and take a seung at a time three times a day — it opens at once. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Sobyeon)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Hair ash — the Blood chapter's styptic — in a formula for retention, because a twisted bladder is often a bloody one. A mal of water boiled down to five seung, and a seung drunk three times a day: again the volume is the point. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
