Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治腸風痔漏. 大烏龜 一箇, 先以柴火燒熱地, 以盆盖龜, 地熱逼出臭液, 待液盡, 以稈繩都身包裹, 外用黃泥固濟, 灰火中煨熟, 撈起剝淨取肉, 硏如泥; 其殼用牛骨髓塗灸五七次, 心透酥乾爲末. 又用黃連 一兩(九蒸九曬)ㆍ當歸尾 三錢三分爲末, 和前龜肉搗丸梧子大, 白湯下五七十丸. 《入門》
Translation
Treats intestinal wind and fistulous piles. One large black tortoise: first heat the ground with a brushwood fire and cover the tortoise with a basin, and the heat of the ground forces out the foul liquid; when the liquid is spent, wrap the whole body about with straw rope, seal it outside with yellow clay and roast it done in the ashes; take it up, peel it clean, take the flesh and grind it to a paste. Baste the shell with ox bone marrow and roast it five to seven times until it is dried crisp through, and powder it. Then take coptis 1 nyang, steamed and sun-dried nine times, and angelica tails 3 don 3 pun, powder them, mix with the tortoise flesh, pound into pills the size of a firmiana seed, and take fifty to seventy with plain hot water. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Hueum)
