Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治風涎塞喉, 氣不通. 猪牙皂角 四挺(去皮子), 明白礬 一兩. 右爲末, 溫水調下半錢, 病重者一錢, 不大嘔吐, 只微微出稀冷涎一二升便醒. 《得效》 一方, 二味 等分. 又一方, 皂角ㆍ明礬ㆍ半夏 各等分 爲末, 每二錢, 白湯調下, 名曰稀涎散. 《入門》
Translation
Treats wind drool blocking the throat so that the qi does not pass. Gleditsia, four pods with skin and seeds removed; clear alum 1 nyang. Powder them and take half a don stirred into warm water, or 1 don where the disease is severe. There is no great retching — only a slight issuing of one or two seung of thin cold drool, and the patient wakes. Another formula uses the two in equal parts. A further formula of gleditsia, clear alum and pinellia in equal parts, powdered and taken 2 don at a dose in plain hot water, is also called Thin the Drool Powder. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · To)
