Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治食積, 酒積, 脾積, 血氣諸般癥塊. 三稜ㆍ蓬朮ㆍ靑皮ㆍ陳皮各五兩, 胡椒ㆍ乾薑各一兩. 右爲末, 醋煮麪糊和丸梧子大. 礬紅爲衣, 薑湯呑下五七十丸. 《得效》

Translation

Treats food accumulation, alcohol accumulation, spleen accumulation, and concretion lumps of blood and qi of every kind. Sparganium, curcuma, green tangerine peel and tangerine peel 5 nyang each; pepper and dry ginger 1 nyang each. Powder them, make pills with vinegar-boiled wheat paste the size of a firmiana seed, coat them with calcined green vitriol, and take fifty to seventy down with ginger decoction. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Jeokchwi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Six medicinals in a four-to-one ratio, warm throughout, with the two peels balancing the two mass-breakers. The red coating gives the formula its name: calcined green vitriol is iron oxide, and coating the pill both marks it and supplies a little iron.
