Hidden Tiger Pill
Hojam-hwan
한글 호잠환 · Pinyin Hu Qian Wan
Pill formula, bulk amounts: powdered and bound with wine paste into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; 70–90 pills with salted water. A variant bound with mutton broth is called Yongho-hwan 龍虎丸. Note on modern practice: tiger bone (虎骨) is prohibited under CITES and U.S. law; contemporary prescribing omits it, commonly increasing tortoise plastron and adding achyranthes or similar sinew-bone medicinals in its place.
