Built on one whole placenta (紫河車一具): rinsed in rice-washing water, revived a moment in long-flowing water, steamed in an earthen bowl until paste-soft, pounded a thousand times in a stone mortar, and blended with its own reserved juices; the powdered medicinals are then pounded in with the placenta and rice paste and rolled into pills; 100 pills with warm wine or salted water, twice daily. Note on modern practice: human placenta (紫河車) is restricted in contemporary U.S. practice; the formula is presented as recorded, for textual fidelity.

Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治六脉虛微, 血氣衰弱. 此方滋陰補陽, 養壽之聖藥也. 紫河車 一具(泔浸洗淨, 盛竹器, 長流水中浸一刻, 以回生氣, 盛小瓦盆, 於木甑或瓦甑內, 蒸極熟如糊, 取出先傾自然汁別貯, 將河車, 石臼內擣千下, 同前汁和勻), 生乾地黃 四兩, 龜板ㆍ杜沖ㆍ天門冬ㆍ黃柏(鹽酒炒) 各一兩半, 牛膝ㆍ麥門冬ㆍ當歸身 各一兩二錢, 人參 一兩, 五味子 五錢. 右爲末, 入河車汁和米糊爛擣作丸, 以溫酒或鹽湯, 任下百丸, 日再服. 《集略》
Translation
Treats all six pulses vacuous and faint, with Blood and Qi debilitated. This formula enriches Yin and supplements Yang — a sagely medicine for nourishing longevity. One whole placenta (soaked in rice-washing water and washed clean, set in a bamboo vessel and steeped a while in long-flowing water to revive its vital qi, then placed in a small earthen bowl and steamed in a wooden or earthen steamer until paste-soft; the natural juices are first poured off and stored, and the placenta is pounded a thousand times in a stone mortar and blended evenly with the reserved juice); dried raw rehmannia 4 nyang; tortoise plastron, eucommia, asparagus root, and salt-and-wine-fried phellodendron, 1.5 nyang each; achyranthes, ophiopogon, and angelica body, 1.2 nyang each; ginseng 1 nyang; schisandra 5 don.
