Translation

Treats a cold womb without children, and can bring the menses right. Rice-grade cyperus 1 geun, divided into two parcels and steeped nine days — one in child's urine, one in rice vinegar — then cooked together with 4 nyang of cleaned prepared mugwort; dried rehmannia and myrrh, 2 nyang each; amber 1 nyang. Powder the above and bind with a vinegar paste into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; take 100 pills on an empty stomach with a mugwort-and-vinegar decoction. — Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Po)

Clinical commentary 臨床

A pound of cyperus given nine days in two different liquids, then cooked with mugwort — the processing is half the formula, and its object is to make a Qi-mover into something that warms. Amber and myrrh handle what has congealed; the whole is bound and taken in vinegar, the sour flavor that gathers. The chapter's standing answer for a cycle that is irregular in every respect at once. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
