Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治同上. 前方, 加海粉ㆍ瓦壟子ㆍ鱉甲(灸), 爲細末, 將阿魏醋煮化, 入薑汁糊和丸梧子大. 酒下五七十丸. 《回春》

Translation

Treats the same as above. To the preceding formula add sea hare egg mass, ark shell and turtle carapace (mix-fried); grind to a fine powder, boil asafoetida in vinegar until dissolved, and with ginger juice paste form pills the size of a firmiana seed. Take fifty to seventy down with wine. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Jeokchwi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The decoction turned into a pill, with three softening agents added — sea hare egg mass, ark shell and turtle carapace, all salty shells or concretions — and asafoetida dissolved in vinegar as the binder.
