Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治經水過多. 黃芩ㆍ白朮ㆍ龜板各一兩, 椿根白皮七錢, 黃柏(炒) 三錢, 香附子(童便浸焙) 二錢半. 右爲末, 酒糊和丸梧子大, 白湯下五七十丸. 《入門》

Translation

Treats menstrual water that is excessive. Scutellaria, white atractylodes, and turtle plastron, 1 nyang each; ailanthus root bark 7 don; dry-fried phellodendron 3 don; cyperus, soaked in child's urine and baked, 2.5 don. Powder the above and bind with a wine paste into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; take 50–70 pills with plain boiled water. — Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Po)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Three chiefs holding three different jobs — scutellaria cools the heat, atractylodes supplies the Qi that must hold the Blood in, and turtle plastron anchors the Yin the bleeding is spending. Ailanthus bark binds, and a small measure of cyperus keeps the securing from turning into stagnation.
