Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

黃柏ㆍ知母等分, 童便九蒸九曬九露爲末, 地黃煎膏, 和丸梧子大, 空心, 鹽湯下三五十丸. 《入門》

Translation

Phellodendron and anemarrhena in equal parts, steamed, sun-dried and dew-exposed nine times in child's urine, and powdered; rehmannia decocted to a paste, bound into pills the size of a firmiana seed, thirty to fifty taken on an empty stomach with salt decoction. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Jeong)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Kan is the trigram of water and Li of fire, and the pill is the two brought together — phellodendron and anemarrhena, the Fire chapter's standing pair for yin vacuity, steamed nine times in child's urine and bound with rehmannia. Daebohwan-tang of the Fire chapter is the same idea as a decoction.
