Clinical commentary 臨床

Oryeong-san with the cinnamon taken out and thirst-quenching drugs put in: trichosanthes root leading, pueraria for fluid, elsholtzia for the summer damp, coptis for the heat. The design answers the problem the chapter keeps returning to — that a patient who has lost fluid is thirsty, and that giving a diuretic to such a patient needs care. Here the diuretics are the bland pair, polyporus and alisma, and the bulk of the formula is for generating fluid. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
