陳米 is registered under jinchangmi 陳倉米, aged granary rice, which is the same material under its fuller name; elsewhere in the corpus 陳米 appears only as 陳米飯 or 陳米飮, a binder or vehicle rather than a weighed drug, and this leaf weighs it at 3 don. 冬瓜仁 is registered under donggwaja 冬瓜子, following the corpus's existing practice for that name.

Clinical commentary 臨床

祛風助胃 — dispel wind and assist the stomach, and the formula is honest about which half it cares about. Three don of stir-fried aged rice is the heaviest single item, with lotus seed, hyacinth bean and poria over it; this is close to a gruel with drugs in it, and for a child who has been emptying himself for weeks a thin, starchy, warm drink taken 2 don at a time is not nothing. The wind half is gastrodia, typhonium and a scorpion, and it is the smaller half. A starch drink is in fact the shape of the right answer, which is the odd thing about this leaf. Rice water with salt in it is the folk ancestor of oral rehydration solution, and glucose-based ORS works because glucose drags sodium and water across the gut wall. What is missing here is the salt, and the measured quantity, and the volume — a child losing litres cannot be rehydrated 2 don at a time. The full reading is at sinhyo-san-soa. **Contains scorpion, a neurotoxic animal venom whose dose cannot be measured in dried material, and the patient is a child; the text gives no dose by weight anywhere. The 白附子 is given in herbs.yaml as typhonium, but the material traded under that name in Korea has often been 關白附, Aconitum coreanum, a true aconite with almost no margin between an effect and a fatal arrhythmia.** It should not be prepared. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
