Translation

Treats damage from wind, cold, summerheat or damp forming distension and fullness. White atractylodes, atractylodes lancea, tangerine peel, magnolia bark, agastache and pinellia 1 don each; bitter orange and areca 7 pun each; cinnamon twig, dry ginger and licorice 5 pun each. Cut up, make one packet, add 5 slices of ginger and 2 jujubes, decoct in water and take. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Changman)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Pyeongwi-san with agastache and pinellia added and cinnamon twig at the end — essentially Bulhwangeumjeonggi-san extended, which is the standing formula for damage by external influences reaching the middle burner. The two atractylodes together at a don each make it the driest prescription in the section. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
