Translation

Treats circuit impediment. Circuit impediment is within the blood vessels; it goes up following the vessels and down following the vessels, and cannot go to the left or the right, each part being where it belongs. Soybean sprout, 1 seung, stir-fried till done and powdered; 1 don each time, taken stirred into warm wine, three times a day. — Hagan Yubang 河間 (Donguibogam · Pung)

Clinical commentary 臨床

One drug for one named disease, and the name is the whole of its interest. Circuit impediment, in the Lingshu's definition quoted here, travels up and down along the vessels but never crosses the midline — which is a precise description of a symptom following a dermatome or a nerve rather than wandering at random. The treatment, roasted soybean sprout in wine three times a day, is a food, and the mismatch between the sharpness of the diagnosis and the mildness of the remedy is characteristic of the single-simple tradition. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
