Clinical commentary 臨床

如竪弦一條 — like a taut cord standing upright — and 着冷便疼, painful as soon as it meets cold. The two signs distinguish this from the left-sided formula above: a cord rather than a lump, and cold rather than pressure bringing the pain on. Dry ginger stir-fried black is the marker. Charring makes it enter the blood and stop bleeding rather than simply warm, and its presence here says the right-sided mass is read as cold with stagnation rather than as liver fire. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
