Translation

Treats spleen and stomach vacuity cold with distending pain within the abdomen. Cut up, make one packet, add 3 slices of ginger and 2 jujubes, decoct in water and take. — Jikji 直指 (Donguibogam · Bok)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Seven aromatics at seven pun each, and the two costliest — ginseng and aloeswood — at three. 磨脾, grinding the spleen, is the Jikji's word for what the aromatics do to a stalled middle. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
