治熱厥頭痛. 川芎ㆍ石膏 等分, 剉水煎服. 名川芎石膏湯. 《綱目》
Translation
Treats heat-reversal headache. Cnidium and gypsum in equal parts, cut up, decocted in water and taken. It is called Cheongung-seokgo-tang. — Gangmok 綱目 (Donguibogam · Du)
Clinical commentary 臨床
The two-drug version of Seokgo-san, without the frontal guide and taken as a decoction rather than a powder, and the simplest heat-headache prescription in the book. 熱厥頭痛, heat-reversal headache, is the headache of a high fever, and a headache with fever and neck stiffness or a rash needs ruling out as meningitis before anything else. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
