Clinical commentary 臨床
Two drugs, and after the sympathetic remedies that precede it this is a pharmacological formula again. Trichosanthes root is the classical drug for heat that has consumed fluid — it generates fluid rather than merely cooling — and bamboo shavings clear heat from the stomach and stop the nausea that comes with it. The two together make a mild, moistening formula suited to a convalescent whose relapse shows mostly as thirst and dryness. This is the entry in the yin-yang-exchange group a modern practitioner can actually use. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
