Donguibogam

Translation

One yellow hornet's nest, its cells packed full with Sichuan pepper and the mouth sealed with 1 don of white salt, burnt with the nature retained; add angelica dahurica and sheep's shin-bone ash 1 don each and grind together to a powder. First rinse the mouth with clear tea, then rub it on; where there is a cavity, pack the medicine into it, and it heals at once. — Uihak Jeongjeon 正傳 (Donguibogam · Ahchi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

有孔則以藥塞其孔 — where there is a hole, pack the medicine into it. A temporary dressing in a carious cavity, which is exactly what a dentist still does before a filling. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
