Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治腎水不足陰虛. 龜板(酒灸) 四兩, 知母ㆍ黃柏(幷酒浸炒) 各三兩, 乾薑一兩. 右爲末, 粥丸梧子大, 空心, 鹽湯下五七十丸. 《東垣》

Translation

Treats kidney water insufficient with yin vacuity. Tortoise plastron (wine mix-fried) 4 nyang; anemarrhena and phellodendron (both wine-steeped and fried) 3 nyang each; dry ginger 1 nyang. Powder them, bind with congee into pills the size of a firmiana seed, and take fifty to seventy on an empty stomach with salt decoction. — Dongwon 東垣 (Donguibogam · Sin)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Danxi's Great Supplement the Yin Pill in all but name — tortoise plastron with the cooling pair — and the Bogam credits it to Dongwon. The dry ginger at a quarter of the rest is the Blood chapter's device: one warm thing so the cold is accepted.
